Father’s Day, A Reminder

Father’s Day, A Reminder

Greetings and peace in the name of Jesus our Lord.  With today being Father’s Day, it seemed appropriate to offer Bible verses that speak about fathers and fatherhood, whether of an earthly or heavenly father.  Everyone of you have an earthly father and all of you who are born again also have a Divine Father.

The Apostle John wrote to those for whom he cared with a special message.  In one part he repeats himself for emphasis.  Let’s begin there and then make several other references available that say something about fathers.

1 John 2:12-14, NIV

  1. I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.
  2. I am writing to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one.
  3. I write to you, dear children, because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
